Sites hosted with tiger&type get daily backups, direct server access, faster restores. On your own host, your provider’s backups usually cover you, so we make sure they are running rather than duplicate them; everything else runs the same.

Common questions

Do I need a care plan if my site is brand new?
Yes, actually more so. A new site has all its plugins at the same version, which means they’ll all need updating around the same time. Getting into a maintenance routine from day one is far easier than catching up later. If tiger&type built your site, we’ll waive the initial audit fee.
What if I’m already on another host or with another agency?
No problem. We work with sites hosted anywhere. Plugin and core updates, security scans, uptime monitoring and performance checks all run the same regardless of your host. Backups are the one exception: most hosts already run them, so rather than duplicate that, we make sure yours are working and that you can restore from them. On tiger&type hosting we handle backups directly. The other difference is recovery speed: hosted with us, we have direct server access for faster restores; on your own host, restores go via your hosting control panel and may take a little longer. We’ll go through exactly what applies to your setup when you sign up.
What happens if an update breaks my site?
Before we apply an update, we check it for known compatibility issues with your theme and plugins, and roll updates out carefully rather than all at once. If something still goes wrong, we restore the last working version from a backup.
Can I cancel if I change my mind?
Yes. Plans are month-to-month with no lock-in. Give us 30 days’ notice and we’ll wrap up cleanly, hand over anything we’re holding and document the current state of the site for whoever takes over.
What’s not included in a care plan?
Design changes, new page builds, copywriting and plugin licensing costs are not included. Starter plans don’t include any billable support hours. If you need small ongoing changes, look at a Pocket Edit package or a Standard/Pro plan with support hours included.
Do you handle WooCommerce sites?
Yes. E-commerce sites actually benefit most from a care plan because WooCommerce updates frequently and an update conflict on a live shop is expensive. We’d typically recommend Standard or Pro for any WooCommerce site.
